Dealing with older, demented customers in the Sparkasse Solingen is extremely questionable. I have never heard such an inappropriate tone towards paying customers. I've already found the conversation threatening and intimidating when I put myself in the shoes of my demented parent. According to the branch management, the service team is not there to provide assistance and service (unblocking access) to online banking. To make matters worse, the branch management also asked to log into online banking on a Sparkasse computer, presumably in the hope that the customer could be pilloried if the login did not work due to incorrect entries. The Sparkasse advertises that its proximity to customers is "to be understood humanely", advertises with promising statements such as "focus on people" and "competent advice [...] tailored to individual needs" (see website). For me it is incomprehensible how even the manager of the branch on Platzhofstrasse delivers such a sign of poverty as a figurehead. There are plenty of alternatives - and people like to do without such on-site "service".
