Not really much to see as the insides are now appartments & businesses. However, it is great to see something like this hasn't been bulldozed to the ground. It reminds us of a horrific period in history where the people of Bielefeld needed a building like this to shelter from the bombs being dropped on their city.

Interesting building with a separate history. Placed in the early 40s of the 20th century as a bunker for the protection of the citizens of Bielefeld. Bielefeld was a strategic goal because of the presence of various industrial companies. In the event of a major air strike at Bielefeld, a large part of the inner city was completely destroyed. The Hochbunker was the only building that was still standing. In recent years, the building has been converted into a number of apartment buildings and retail spaces. The whole offers a surprising sight from the street side and from the park at the rear.
