In my opinion the best school in Germany. Their you are able to see how to create an education that based on freedom, democracy and equality. It's a lighthouse for other schools in Germany and the whole world !!!

Unfortunately, little structure and too little adaptation to the curriculum of the other public elementary schools in NRW. Orthography is not only taught in the first two school years. If the student has little self-motivation, which can be the case with unpopular subjects, the subjects remain unpopular and are avoided. Parents actually have to constantly ask what is going through, because the teachers do not communicate that on their own. Nor is it that only the strengths of the children are praised, so that you are very startled when you see what deficits are simply falling under the table. It would really be better not to talk everything nicely, but also to demand that weaknesses are trained. If you do not identify with the school one hundred percent, you will immediately assume a lack of trust; criticism of teachers or the form of teaching are not desired, since the teachers are ultimately omniscient. Positive: Nice interaction between the children, little competition thinking.

i'm at the gertrud bäumer secondary school, but i really want to switch to the laboratory school. i only heard good things about the school. I'll get in touch there soon. The problem is that there is a 3 year wait

I'm very divided as far as this school is concerned! There are certainly children for whom it is just the right kind of school. After my experiences with my children (both now in another school) children should have a lot of initiative and good organization. Then the school is optimal. It is more difficult when a child needs more rules and structures. My child was a problem pupil at the school. Since we changed to a regular school, there is no talk of it at all! Pity somehow, because I think the basic principle is good. But rules and structures are just wide-ranging and everyone puts it differently for themselves. That's why only 3 stars! Many good qualities my kids have learned!
