One of those lost old techniques shown here which is replaced by morden Tools ... the site demonstrates Hydro forging technique. It's and old techniques used back from 1417 almost 600yrs old. It's open every first Sunday of the month. Must visit place in Essen. It is a part of Ruhr Museum. It is run by talented technical staff. They whole machine was restored and started again and open for people.

Beautiful depiction of how steel was forged at the time with the power of water and fire. Every first Sunday from May to November in the time of 14-18 o'clock you can admire the Original Art. Also and especially for children very interesting.

This branch of the Ruhr Museum makes the medieval production of wrought iron in a great way experience. If you then consider that the entire blacksmith originally stood elsewhere, completely dismantled and then built at their present location in Essen again including water power functioning, the whole thing is all the more impressive. It is worthwhile to come by for the regular performances of the Ruhrmuseum.
