Cultural Property: The Mask Dance and the Kolanuss Ritual Explanation: The fruit kola nut is a symbol of connection. In Nigeria, we Igbos especially use them for ceremonies and to greet guests. Before each Kolanuss ritual, the nut is cleaned and shared with all present. The Mask Dance is for selected men and invites the respective spirits to be part of the gathering.
