You can hop on the s1 to go to the airport, the central station, eastern part of Hamburg via the regional train. The ststion is packed when there are passengers coming in from outside Hamburg.

This is one of the station on Hamburg-Ahrensburg train route. It also connects Airport via S bahn.

Unfortunately, the side of the regional train does not have any bird protection in the roofed part of the platform, so that numerous pigeons have settled here. Especially in the breeding season you have to be careful not to be bombed from above with every step. The platform itself looks accordingly (pigeon droppings everywhere). Unfortunately, the regional train side is not handicapped accessible. The only exit is a narrow staircase! The anteroom (with ticket machines) has unfortunately already passed its prime.
