The August-Holländer-Museum of the city of Emsdetten originally served as the stable building of Hof Deitmar. The last major change on Hof Deitmar took place when in 1913 the owners rebuilt the main building into a prestigious residential building. As part of these structural changes, the old barns and stables were demolished and built a new farm building. This newly built building had two entrances to the store and mill street. Inside was a large threshing floor, cows and horses were on the left and right, on the outside wall was originally a pigsty attached. In 1956, the city of Emsdetten bought the entire court area. In 1963, the museum, with its collection of local history, moved from the former main building to the ground floor of the converted commercial building. In 1989, the building was completely rebuilt, retaining the outer walls from the foundations to the ridge of the roof, and its content was redesigned as a textile museum.
