The Kremershammer is a former hammer mill in Wuppertal-Cronenberg. The Hammerwüstung, the Obergraben and the Hammerteich were placed under protection as a ground monument in March 2006. The Kremershammer was founded in 1607 by a Peter Eschbach from Schwabhausen near Cronenberg. At the brooks in the valleys around Cronenberg, more than twenty cottages and blacksmith's hammers once ensured lively economic activity. Whether as a grinding bowl, for refining steel or as a hammer mill: The numerous companies in Kaltenbach, Gelpe, Morsbach or Wupper shape the industrial history of Cronenberg. The Kotten was restored in the mid-1980s.
