The astropeiler on the Stockert near Eschweiler was Germany's first radio telescope in 1956. The Astropeiler has been in the hands of an association since 1996. The members reprocessed the facility while preserving the historical structure. The access to the Astropeiler leads over a golf course. Very interesting tours are often offered. Here you will also find a nice team that brings you closer to radio astronomy and demonstrates the impressive parabolic antenna in action. Always worth a visit.

There are the forerunners of Effelsberg. Very informative, but not open to visitors. You have to see if someone is there if you ask nicely 🤗 then you can look around. 30 years ago you could just go there.
