The preservation of the historical building from the late 16th century in its origin has been initiated and implemented by the tireless efforts of Wolfgang Heimer. After the war, it was still used as a residential building. Decades ago, a farm building was demolished. When the last tenant moved out, the two owners gave the building Wolfgang Heimer. He sees it now as part of the Heimatmuseum Priorhof and binds it as a kind of museum. It was worked out as much framework as possible visually. The basement is bricked with sandstones. Steinhardt fossils, the so-called Steinhardter peas, were also integrated into an external wall. In addition to the Obertor and the Untertor, a smaller entrance was open in Sobernheim's north, hence the name "Pförtnerhäuschen". The small gatehouse became a tourist attraction of the Felkestadt. On the back it is attached to the former massive city wall. All refurbishment work was financed exclusively through sponsorship and done by volunteers.
