All in all, the Kiel University of Applied Sciences is simply in the wrong location; it clearly belongs on the west bank. Few parking spaces, hardly any university feeling. East bank walls with a shipyard feeling. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is so cool. Buses take forever to get to FH. Line 11, also called Knoblauchexpress (honestly, in summer the stench is hell), drives a good 25 minutes from the Sophienblatt. The economics department stiffened on standard specializations, while the nearby Ostuferhafen with its maritime transport industry plays no role at all. Marketing, taxes, the entire standard swamp is taught, but modern and flexible economic topics that also need regular adjustments are bypassed, especially during the year 2020 has shown how important specializations are also in the field of hospital and health management (the FH also offered earlier, the emphasis is on earlier). The technical and social departments are better positioned. Online business administration is also more standard, but the lecturers (Lipolt etc.) are excellent. International offers are plentiful. But you will look in vain for elite university connections. German students, especially university students, fall out because of their poor math skills. For business studies, 1-2 semesters abroad should be possible in GB / Switzerland / France or the USA. Especially those who aim high want !! Of course only if you don't have a family and are still young. Otherwise, life takes place in Kiel-West. CAU is more to be recommended, especially with the coal that is being thrown in. It also feels more like university! Oh yes, you will also look in vain for an Auditorium Maximum at the University of Applied Sciences. What is referred to here is more like a sports hall with a climbing wall and is reminiscent of a new school auditorium! So whoever thinks that everything is nonsense should go to Socratesplatz and get an idea for yourself. And don't be surprised if the whistle blows in the skyscraper. Tight windows and doors are something for warm showerers and beginners;)! Have fun studying!
