The Erzbahntrasse is a wonderful cycle path away from busy roads. It connects Bochum's city center with the Rhine-Herne Canal on the Grimberger Sichel, a curved bridge over the canal. Worth seeing on the way are, among other things, the Erzbahnschwinge near the Jahrhunderthalle or the pillar track, a long bridge on stilts near Holger's Erzbahnbude, a snack bar. You cross old industrial freight routes, but the A40 motorway. Almost the entire length is only driven through the green and in the middle of the Ruhr area.
