Nice park in the middle of the Ruhr area with an old ruin. Here you can go for a nice walk, unwind or let the children play football on the playground or on the large meadow. Sculptures are scattered around the park and there is also a small romantic lake. The New Year's Eve chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1397, but it is probably a lot older. It is the former house chapel of the Weitmar manor. Namesake and their patron saint was Pope Silvester I. In 2010, a modern building called Kubus was built in the ruins of the Weitmar house.

The castle park in Weitmar invites to a small journey into the past. Already in the 11th century a farm was mentioned in the castle park Weitmar, from which in the second half of the 15th century, the first manor house Weitmar was created. In 1592 Johann von Hasenkamp built a moated castle from Ruhr sandstone, the ruins of which can still be seen today.
