Lovely museum in the heart of the quintessential Bavarian village. The museum has a wonderful collection and is staffed by knowledgeable, warm and friendly people. Plan on spending an hour or so - the experience will help you get a sense of the culture and day to day of the area and it's people.

Oberammergau is a beautiful little town nestled in the mountains that if you are traveling near would be a shame to not stop and spend some time walking around. Not really a big town, but it's got enough to see and do for a few hours. Of course 2020 will be a big deal as the once per decade live play is scheduled. Again, it's worth the time on its own.

The collection looked wonderful and I’m sure on another day it would have been fascinating to look at. Unfortunately they were two screaming children- and I don’t mean just a little understandable noise like all children make- I mean screaming, crying, wailing, slamming things, playing with doors, throwing things, all while Grandma did nothing to stop them. It was stressful to the point that I decided to leave. Although this is not directly the fault of the museum staff, they also at no point tried to stop this. They did not ask the adult escorting them to get their children to behave or ask them to leave. This was going on for the entire 30 minutes I was there. A shame I did not get to appreciate the collection which appeared to have been curated with great care.

Excellent small museum with friendly helpful staff. Audio/visual presentation about the Passion play was really worth watching.
