Lavakeller Museum

Nice guided tour... Interesting and informative. Friendly personnel. Not too expensive. Parking available free of cost in a parking lot. Staircases take you underground. If needed, lift available to go down to 9th floor below the ground. My 3 year old was quite tired and didn't like it much in dark a and damp environment and became grumpy. Otherwise too, I don't think it was very much interesting for other young children under 9/10. Adults seemed to enjoy. We did!

Unique experience

When you have made it down the 150 steps, a huge room made of basalt rock offers a wonderful, dark ambience. The tour was interesting and climbing the 150 steps again was a feat.

Go there! All employees were very friendly and competent! The museum explains in an interesting way without getting too scientific. The trip to the lava cellar humbles how valuable and powerful our planet is.

The museum is small, but interesting. You can follow an audio tour in Dutch. The underground tour was disappointing. I expected to see / hike a lot more. Much is said in German. Unfortunately my German was too bad to be able to follow everything. Come early that will save you a lot of waiting. We were there at 10:30 am. There was already a queue at noon.
