Blankenberg is an old town and belongs to the city of Hennef. In the Katharinenturm there is a museum which, as a local museum, offers finds and information from the region. On the top floor there is an old shoemaker's shop where, on some Sundays, visitors can still experience the old shoemaker's trade live. Master shoemaker Nadine Weißenfels and master shoemaker Heinz Becker present bespoke shoe making or give tips on care. Other old trades are those of the spinner and the weaver, who also present their craft.

Nice local museum with a presentation of the old handicrafts. On some Sundays you can watch a shoemaker, a weaver and a spinner at work.

The tower museum is open on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. There are also demonstrations in old craft techniques!

Never thought that the museum is so interesting. Respect. Great idea also that in the upper floors "LIVE demo's" are offered about weaving and spinning, have learned a lot of things. Conclusion: It's worth it, the time was well invested.

Exciting contributions to local history. Definitely worth a visit for walks or visiting the beautiful old town!
