Fun!
A bit more difficult to find from the address as it is a bit hidden.
But when you are there, there are great stops to be amazed and experience.
The tour is well divided and quite manageable.
We had fun, a welcome change.
During our visit, everything was disinfected in an exemplary manner. A lady always came by at intervals to clean up.
The number of people was well divided so that it wasn't too crowded. However, we were during the week, which is probably why not that many people signed up. You had to order the tickets online beforehand and choose a time slot in which you want to visit the museum.
In addition, all the exhibits are very interesting and also make you think. You can solve small puzzles on the shot, which you can then buy.
All in all we enjoyed it very much.
This is my first recession now. But due to the negative reviews, I would like to repeat this positive experience.
Many complain here about the entry price, which is € 12, which is too high, but when you consider what the rent alone costs in such a central location (it is easily accessible by public transport), and what then goes into the great, changing ones I think the price is justified in the exhibits and in the employees who have also cleaned and disinfected everything throughout.
Whereby I have already arrived at the hygiene, during the 2.5 hours in which we (2 adults) were there, everything was cleaned and disinfected all the time, which is very important to us, so we could try everything without hesitation (which was great fun Has).
Yes, I was already familiar with many of the illusions, but it makes a difference whether you have read them or seen them on the monitor than e.g. to take a pen in hand and really see that the lines are the same length. I also thought it was great to be able to do the "brain jogging" puzzles from PC hidden object games in real life (many thanks for that too!)
The employees are great! When we were puzzled: why doesn't it work? An unsolicited employee came and patiently explained to us how it was done correctly and what was behind it. (Incidentally, with every exhibit, there is actually the "scientific" explanation of why the brain evaluates it this way and that, or makes this and that out of it and how to "use" the exhibit).
Photos are not only allowed everywhere, they are even encouraged, and the friendly staff were also helpful to us and took the photos of us we wanted.
I hope I have everything important now in the recession and would like to thank the courteous and friendly team of employees for the informative and fun 2.5 hours in the Museum of Illusions, the one who had the idea and implemented it great !! It is really worth a visit!
A nice museum, but definitely not a must-see. The exhibition is not too big and the entrance fee of 12 euros is quite decent. There are a few good exhibits such as the vortex tunnel, but many of the illusions were already known. The friendliness of the staff is positive. Negative, the organization and the hygiene concept.
Since visitors are only allowed in on the hour, a long line of people forms in front of the museum and you have to wait forever until you finally stand in the small ticket office.
At the cash desk you get a brief instruction and the information that you should absolutely keep the minimum distance of 1.5 meters and in case of a "traffic jam" in front of one exhibit to the next one (and then visit the left out later). However, this is as good as impossible, since the rooms are cramped and the visitors actually crowd in front of each exhibit. There is also no "guidance system" and everyone walks all over the place and in between, so that one constantly walks very close to the other visitors. In one area there are puzzle games and puzzles made of wood for visitors to try out. Actually incomprehensible how one can offer such games for use in times of Corona. Everyone takes it into their own hands - disinfection before or after is a nuisance! And last but not least, it is not checked whether everyone really leaves the museum after an hour (given duration of the visit).
