The Rheinhessische Fahrradmuseum is a museum in Gau-Algesheim. Since April 2002, Ardeck Castle in Gau-Algesheim has been home to the Rheinhessisches Fahrradmuseum on the history of bicycles and cycling. In five rooms there are exhibits on the history of the development of the bicycle from replicas of the running machines of Karl Drais and the k from Sobernheim an der Nahe. k. Court machinists Anton Burg (1767–1849) on a Michauline by Pierre Michaux from around 1865, a penny-farthing bike from 1886 and a penny-farthing bike (“Safety”) from 1887 to a whole range of utility bikes for adults and children from the 20th century and sports bikes from all disciplines. Numerous documents and the library of the museum show which technical, social and artistic developments were triggered by the bicycle. The Rheinhessisches Fahrradmuseum sees itself as a regional sports museum, which offers the more than 30 cycling clubs in the region the opportunity to present themselves and which also accompanies the current sporting development, especially in indoor cycling (artificial cycling, cycling ball and cycling polo). With its exhibits, the museum supports other museums in the region, festivals and sporting events organized by cycling clubs, but also companies, media outlets and film producers. Examples include the anniversary exhibition "The bicycle - 200 years of craft on two wheels" in the Galerie Handwerk Koblenz, the exhibition "Cyclomania. Radelde Frauen “by the Frauen Musuems Wiesbaden, the annual experiment days of the VDI Rheingau in Flörsheim am Main, an annual kick-off event by the company KAO Goldwell Darmstadt, the production of Deep Wounds - A Taunus thriller and programs by ZDF, SWR and WDR. The museum, which is run on a voluntary basis and supported by a support association, is sponsored by the city of Gau-Algesheim and the cycling association Rheinhessen. From 2002 to 2012 the museum director was the sports pedagogue and sports historian Heinz-Egon Rösch, who had already developed the "Idea of a Rhenish Hesse Bicycle Museum" in a lecture in 1998 and inspired the establishment of the museum. In 2012, Norbert Diehl, from 1993 to 2005 chairman of the 1898 Gau-Algesheim cycling club, took over the management of the museum. Emil Busch from Gau-Algesheim followed him in 2016.

Under the slogan grasp to grasp and grasp to grasp, the history of two-wheelers can be experienced and interestingly designed and presented in this museum.
