They don't accept foreign (non-german) payment cards, so you have to pay cash. In the 21st century! The permanent applied art exhibition shows many well known design items, very worthwhile. I also went to see the Künstler Blick special exhibition. The exhibition was on the second floor behind a small unmarked door. I suggested to a guard to put an Entry sign, he said if people don't know the place, they can ask downstairs for directions... The special exhibition was small and eclectic; I'd recommend it only for people with deep interest in the local art scene. Good: The exhibition booklet is very detailed. Bad: it is not obvious which description in the booklet refers to which exhibit. How about putting numbers on the exhibits for identification? Overall, I recommend the permanent exhibition; the special exhibition was somewhat interesting but let down by not being visitor friendly.

Poor collection compared to similar museums in Europe (just two small exhibits were open). No place to sit down to actually look at the items. Last, one unpleasant staff made our family felt particularly unwelcome. Maybe it was just bad timing but it definitely felt not worth it imho

Easy & cheap but very fun to visit small design museum. Worth the visit and the money if you like the history of design appliances and end-user items. There's more exhibitions in one building. Minor improvement for the security start, they are watching every step non-stop.

The museum covers a huge range of Art & Crafts, which alone are worth seeing. Had a great (free) guided tour which put a lot of the works in the context of their time.

Permanent exhibition? No. No collection. No stock. So all is changing often and they have to beg for any item to be exposed here. And this is performed in an outstanding way. Many fabulous exhibitions have been composed over the years with item that have not been released before or never been relinquished to third parties. On my Top list: Miro, infinite jest, German PoP Art,
