I go there for student concerts. They are usually very affordable. The quality of these concerts are quite ok, considering the students are generally inexperienced. The ambience could be better but its a school afterall. Seats are bare and cosy. Would recommend for a casual concert night.

The University of Music and Dance Cologne is one of the largest music academies in Europe and is located in Cologne's Altstadt-Nord. It is also known under the name University of Music Cologne (until 2009). Colloquially, the name Musikhochschule Köln is still commonly used. The Musikhochschule Köln is Germany's second oldest conservatory and began in 1845 as "Rheinische Musikschule".

I've heard many great concerts here, often played by the graduating classes. Even those who love very special music have come to the right place. The concerts usually only cost a few euros or are completely free. The only negative is the parking situation, which is a real disaster in the Kunibertsviertel, but the university cannot do anything about that.
