Reviews
Preferably zero stars .. first appointment with this "doctor": in the first few minutes the tooth-bleached, tanned gentleman tries to come across nicely and competently, but then becomes so self-interested, arrogant in the course of the conversation, he answers questions condescendingly and leaves don't pronounce one. At the second appointment, he was really rude and disgusting. We had an appointment in Regensburg and should bring the neurologist's findings with us to the next appointment. At the next appointment in Straubing, the gentleman was sick, but the appointment was not canceled. So we went there almost for nothing. Since we had a longer journey, we were able to get an appointment with a colleague, a really, really nice, professor who took a lot of time, but we should still have a look at the Buchhorn. A new appointment in Regensburg: we thought my husband would finally be told something about the treatment, none. The man just said: no, there is no need for surgery. Not more!!! We were completely perplexed, said that we thought it was about the treatment and not about an operation. According to him, that would be clear and this would have resulted from the first appointment. This was definitely not true, there was no mention of the fact that it was all about whether he had to operate or not. Terrible person I would never have operated on. A doctor who, in our eyes, definitely does not practice the profession by calling and who does not do so, has no competence.
At first Dr Buchhorn looked competent and friendly. After the ankle operation, which he felt was necessary, the blade turned. He was rude, was loud at one time or another, made comparisons, didn't let the patient finish talking, etc .. His surgery was over a year ago and my symptoms are worse than before the operation. Constant bending and bending, pain in the entire ankle and restricted movement.
According to him, I would be the problem because the muscles would be bad. In his reports, he writes of all tests compared to the other side and finds in these tests that the SP would be stable. On some appointments, the foot was not even looked at, let alone examined in the opposite view.
Another clinic for ankle surgery made a completely different diagnosis: chronic ankle instability on both sides (right complaining), right synovitis and adhesions OSG / USG, Os Trigonum Syndrome, cartilage damage, etc. ... Based on this diagnosis, a joint-preserving intervention was performed in February 2020. .
I am sure that he too would have recognized the problem with a competent investigation. I would have liked to have an appointment with him to see what he says, but "follow-up examinations" only take place in Regensburg and I would have had to wait for an appointment for a long time, or it fell during my hospital stay.
The only positive: the close cooperation with the home shop.
If you couldn't award a star, I would definitely prefer that today!
I went to see Dr. Buchhorn in treatment. My hallux valgus on my left foot was surgically corrected and treated. So far so good. I am satisfied in and of itself with the operation. The responsible nurses in Bad Abbach were colorfully mixed from friendly to stressed, short-spoken and sometimes unfriendly. What you can still understand when there is a lack of care, especially if you are also active in this profession ...
The absolute cheek, however, was today at the appointment at the sports therapy center in Straubing.
But I have to start over ...
After almost 1 year after the operation, I had an appointment to check the bone healing, as the "brace" still causes problems in the operating area and a removal was planned.
At that time I was welcomed in a friendly manner, with the words: no problem, we can do that. Dr. Buchhorn sent me to the CT in the EKH Straubing.
The appointment after the CT was set and it was mentioned at the time that I should take the CD with me from the CT. However, I forgot these in the stress of everyday life. The dark-haired medical assistant informed me, mind you without the presence of Dr. Buchhorn, that this appointment would be pointless without a CD. And I should definitely take the CD with me to the next appointment, the lady did not say anything about findings on paper, only that these will be obtained by the EKH. So I made a new appointment a week later. A few days before this, the facility's switchboard called me. The lady asked me to postpone the appointment to next week due to the increased number of patients. Which, despite the pain, was not a problem for me.
So now was the new appointment today.
I had a waiting time of about 45 minutes, which was bearable.
When I was with Dr. Buchhorn was in the consulting room, he looked at the CT images on the PC and asked me quite annoyed whether I didn't have the written findings with me anyway. I said to him that nobody had told me. In addition, I wrote extra when registering at EKH Straubing: Please send your findings to the referring doctor.
In the further course of the conversation, Dr. Buchhorn visibly tense, which triggered the same thing in me. Still, I stayed calmer than the doctor. He said to me word for word literally: You are wasting my time, he recently told me to take both with me (at the last appointment I did not have the pleasure of seeing him in person), besides, he had a long day and was not in the mood for senseless ones Conversations. Dr. Buchhorn became noticeably arrogant, indignant, verbally abusive towards me. Reflected that I was visibly annoyed, which he was right at this point in time. Even at this point sent my escort out of the room. I inform him that we will split up at this point and that I will look for another surgeon. Shook his hand, said goodbye politely, and left. It could be loaded as I was not holding back the door to close quietly.
After this appointment, I can only advise against using the sports therapist. I haven't met anything like this in any other medical institution, let alone got to know it.
Being rude, impolite, capricious, disrespectful, self-important and verbally abusive at the limit.
Never again!
Unfortunately, Mr. Buchhorn did not take care of my injured ankle for which I had my appointment, but instead made a misdiagnosis with fatal consequences (blood thinning): Thrombosis. Thankfully, there are other specialists! In addition, he appeared short-tempered, unfriendly, autocratic and verbally overbearing, plain: unprofessional.
No thanks, never again.
Dr. Buchhorn was the surgeon for my wife (Hallux operating theater). She was in good hands right from the start. Dr. Buchhorn was always concerned and everything went very well. The care in the Asklepios clinic in Bad Abbach was excellent (nursing staff always there for the patients). Today after 6 weeks, she is already wearing normal shoes (H) and running is getting better every day! This doctor is only recommended !!!!
