German Film and Photo Technology Museum

A very nice museum with great attention to detail, the exhibits are very many and cover a wide area. A visit is definitely worthwhile, not just for photography and camera technology enthusiasts.

Nice little museum worth a stopover on the way through Deidesheim. Cameras and other devices from over 200 years are on display. The departments dealing with moving images are particularly extensive, namely cinema and television technology. With the analog technology, many exhibits can be admired from the Super-8 camera to the cutting table for 32mm films. In video technology, early television projectors can be seen, as well as some studio cameras and video recorders from the 1960s and 1970s, which, like tape recorders, used magnetic tapes wound on spools as a storage medium.

Very nice collection of photo and video equipment. Surprisingly spacious with good layout. Many explanations available. I would have been interested in the relative prices of the devices. Toilets are available. Price was very reasonable with 4 €.
