As an anesthetist, I have been performing anesthesia for dental treatments in the districts of Pinneberg, Segeberg, Dithmarschen and Steinburg for 25 years. This statement is doubly wrong: the health insurance company pays nothing to the doctor, but a lump sum to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, which passes this on to the doctor in whole, in part or not at all. The basis has been the "EBM" fee schedule since 2014. It literally states: Chapter 5.1.2: "The provision of anesthesia in accordance with Section 5.3 in connection with dental and / or oral, maxillofacial surgery is only billable for: o Children up to the age of 12, provided that ... another way of eliminating pain is not possible. This must be stated with the reason. o Patients with an inability to cooperate with intellectual disabilities All of this is clear and will be explained in detail to the patient and relatives. Unfortunately there is also no payment if the mother and not the child is mentally handicapped. Sometimes it helps when the mother doesn't brings hundreds of euros to the tattoo artist, but buys a German book and the child a toothbrush!

My dentist recommended this practice to me because my tooth could not be anesthetized painlessly for a root canal treatment. I had the root canal treatment done under anesthesia and I am very relieved to see how everything went.
