Beautiful catacomben. They didn’t do the tour in English. The beer is okay. €10 with beer

Beer industry and local history mix in the large tunnel system deep beneath the Bayreuth brewery district. Worth a visit.

We had a cold and damp but also very interesting visit to the Bayreuther Katakomben about 3 stories below ground. Our young tour guide was very pleasent andre accommadating. As we arrived at the location ahead of time and she kindly offered us copies of the guide-manus in English to read though, as the tour was in German only. It gave us a great chance to get familiar with history and help understand all that was being described during the 1-hour tour. Returning to ground level we were offered a free taste of the local brew (also non-alc. beverages were available) we had prebooked and paid for the tour and it is absolutely worth a visit.
