I would highly recommend you stay here if you’re looking for an amazing jungle experience and some of the best most hospitable service you will get anywhere. The guides are very knowledgeable of the island and proud to tell you all about it. The food, the lodging, and hospitality are second to none. Ask for rooms 24 to 27. You will have a chance to meet the villagers, make chocolate from scratch, make pottery, go tubing down the river, visit an animal rescue where you can hand feed monkeys just larger than squirrels, and much more. They can take you as deep into the jungle and allow you to experience as much as you would like to. Oh, almost forgot. The ayahuasca ceremony is as amazing as you’d expect it to be. The shaman they use is very experienced. This was my first time in the jungle and I know this experience will be hard to top in future jungle adventures.
The staff was amazing, it felt like you just made a bunch of new friends. The food was really really good. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
disorganized with time (told me I'd get picked up between 5 and 6AM; instead got awoken at 4:30AM by driver), offer an itinerary online even though they just decide what to do day of, Carlos speaks poor English and is the only one who speaks any, promises of English-speaking shaman but actually, again, Carlos is the only English speaker, walls are paper thin and they have dogs running around and wheezing (though they claim it's just a cold, i've had dogs all my life and he definitely has something lodged in his throat) so impossible to sleep
but the worst: BED BUGS! went to sleep with no bites and woke up with over 20 ON EACH LIMB. THAT IS 80 BUG BITES. wtfffff
do NOT go here. it is a ripoff and they will take anything they can from you.
also Carlos is a creep and asked for my phone number, asked me if i wanted him to sleep in my room 3 times, and gave me special (unsolicited) attention the entire time. when i brought this up to Santiago, he acted surprised, but i have now read of multiple other women complaining about this on here. evidently it's easier to just let women keep feeling harassed than to hire another tour guide.
also constant contradictions between shaman and carlos, made it seem like neither knew what they were talking about
Very unique place. Remote, but once you're there, very comfortable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Great Tours, Carlos great guide, the best food in the amazon
