El Edén: Treehouse

The Bad: Do not book the treehouse. It sounds nice, but it is run down, feels dangerous, and I didn't have water. Would absolutely not recommend the treehouse, especially since you pay more for something that really is not worth it compared to other treehouses / locations. It is just a hassle unless you want to basically be camping. Also, they do not ever have food to order (except at breakfast) and it is far from town, so you need to be going with a car or bringing your own food. Never had hot water. The Good: Wifi generally strong enough to work online at the bird viewing/breakfast area, which was awesome! Tons of hummingbirds and Toucans. Nice little night walk included, and breakfast was decent.

Real nice people and a hostel. I didn’t stay there because there was a cheaper hostel in town. I visited there at around 9am and left at around 1. Saw the tucanes at around 11am. I was lucky. They didn’t push me to buy anything but I bought a real good coffee for 1.5 dollars. I didn’t anything more.

This is a great place to stay if you're looking for some peace and quiet. The location is a little but further away from Mindo, but it's a quick $4 cab ride to get there. The owners were very friendly. I'm not much of a birdwatcher, but it was really cool to see all of the birds that hang out near the property (I've never seen so many hummingbirds in my life)

The bird watching area is lovely, many birds come up if you take your time and sit there for a while. Hiked a bit around on the small trail underneath the tree house and saw a pale mandibled toucan and a bunch of maroon tailed parakeets.
