Rustic charm and friendly staff! Third generation hacienda that has been renovated as a hosteria. Lots of artifacts and artwork, gardens, and roaming peacocks. Beautiful views of surrounding mountains. 1 hour from Quito--about $15-20 by taxi. About 1.5 hours from the equator, la mitad del mundo. Ecuador has amazing native chocolate! Friendly people everywhere we went. It helps to speak Spanish. Memorable trip in a memorable hacienda.
