La belle Vue Lodge

We were pleasantly surprised by Belle Vue Lodge. While not a birding lodge, they have a small hummingbird garden for Birdwatchers. The owner, Paul, offers tours to nearby birding destinations where prices tend to be above our price range for overnight stays (Mashpi). I think Birdwatchers should avoid staying on Ecuadorians holiday weekends when the hotel is full of Quiteños escaping the city. The hotel has a pool, hot tubs, course for basketball and soccer, and more. Great dinner and a huge breakfast! I only wish they served locally grown Pacto coffee.
