Aeropuerto Mariscal La Mar

The airport is easy to maneuver through during the pandemic. It is annoying that it costs almost the same to fly from Cuenca to Quito airport as the taxi into the city but costs. There is a cheaper bus but one must make a connection. Quito is a world-class city, convenient access to it should be established.

Went to Immigration on 2nd floor. Great service as always. While I was there I got my Tranvia card..

There is a lot of room for improvement

Very small easy to use airport. On the second floor are bigger bathrooms, three restaurants, and free (sometimes slow) Wi-Fi. Also a nice window overlooking the runway. First floor has about 8 ATMs from different financial institutions. Also, a travel agency, a bank, ticketing, security, and the one baggage carasol. Note to the jet lagged -- when you arrive and first enter the building you are at the baggage carasol. I've now known two people who have walked right past it!

A nice and neat small airport, friendly staff but really bad speakers. They should stop making announcements because they do no good - just irritate passengers.
