Beautiful and accessible nature reserve. Beautiful luscious vegetation, lots of beautiful river crossings and an impressive waterfall. Went on a 5 hour round-trip hike with private guide arranged through the tourism centre. They provided boots for the muddy road :)

Lovely, large nature reserve offers horseback riding, camping, and hiking. Trails lead to small waterfalls and freshwater pools. Also, MONKEYS everywhere in the trees once you get a few miles in. Horseback riding was $23 pp for 3 hour private tour just the two of us and included hiking. 10 mins from Montanita. Guide explained all the flora and fauna in simple Spanish so if you know a little Spanish you will understand. Orchids and bromelaids, butterflies of all sorts, ferns, birds, ducks, etc. Highly recommended!!
