Amazing host who was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and tidy. It's a little out of town so is quieter. Small cozy hostel if that is what you are looking for.

Amazing place with comfortable beds, nice clean kitchen and bathrooms. Close enough to the madness of Montañita beaches but far enough (6-7min walk) for a goodnight sleep. The hosts are very friendly and attentive, help with recommendations regarding eating out and things to do. Perfect place to relax too.

My boyfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at El Cielo! Such a hidden gem, set in lush gardens, tucked away from the vibrant Montanita town. It was the perfect place to chill, lazing in the hammocks, or walking/cycling to the beach (with free bikes) to surf; which was excellent. Monika and Daniel are fantastic hosts, they make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble to ensure the perfect stay. They have lots of great tips for the local area and the breakfast is great; and such good value. We met lots of friends at El Cielo as many people end up staying lots longer, so it’s a great balance of social and relaxing. Overall I can’t recommend El Cielo highly enough. Thanks again Monika and Daniel! We hope to stay again!

Cannot recommend this place enough! Firstly, the owners Monika and Daniel are incredible. They’re so friendly and will go above and beyond to help you and make sure you have the best experience. They have great recommendations for activities and places to eat/drink. Quiet location, rooms are very clean and comfortable, yummy breakfast and great place to relax. El Cielo is hands down the best hostel we have stayed in during our time travelling in South America. The place is located a short walk from the lively centre of Montañita, which makes it the perfect retreat at the end of the day. The rooms couldn't have been cosier, more comfortable or cleaner - a real home from home. Breakfast was substantial and delicious, well worth having! Hot showers, fantastic wifi, a clean and well equipped kitchen, and Monika arranged for our laundry to be done at an excellent price too. Surf lessons with Daniel are a brilliant way to spend the day and are very good value when it's likely to be a one-on-one class! Which leads me nicely onto Monika and Daniel, the hostel owners... words cannot begin to describe how great they are! Helpful, kind, genuine and now our friends in Montañita. It was a real pleasure to see them both in the mornings and when we came back from the beach in the afternoons and share stories from our day. Thanks to Monika and Dan and the loveliness of El Cielo, our time in Montañita was exceptionally special and has really stolen the show of our time away. 5 star place, 5 star people and 5 star experience. 100% recommend.
