Worth it! Touring Otavalo and the neighboring villages with Claudio was such a unique, hands on experience. It made Otavalo one of my favorite parts of Ecuador.

Quichua Native Travel is a fantastic agency! They are owned and operated by the local Quichua community guides who are very knowledgeable about the region, fluent in English, and extremely accommodating. We had Wilmer as our guide for one hike, and Claudio for another three, and Edison as our driver. All three of them were great. Wilmer and Claudio were very patient during our hikes, going at our pace and making sure were dealing well with the altitude. We did four day hikes: Laguna Cuicocha, Majonda/Fuya Fuya, Laguna Cubliche, and Imbabura Summit. All four hikes were incredible with amazing views and thin crowds. We stayed with a local host family, also organized by Quichua Native Travel. Rocio, the host family mom, made our stay special with home cooked meals and showing us the farm life. Can't wait to return again and book with Quichua!
