Black Beach House

Might be the best bar ever. I mean, of course. Here is the view:

One of the only places (that I'm aware of) on the island where you have access to a kitchen; for $30 a night, it's comparable in price to the other homestays on Floreana. It's right on the black sand beach, down a bit further from Hotel Wittmer. In fact, Ingrid, the owner of Black Beach House, is the sister of Erika Wittmer, who runs the hotel. Ingrid is much more amiable than Erika; Hans, their nephew, who helps run both places, is also very friendly. You can relax in the hammocks and watch the boobies and pelicans dive for their lunch. The place is huge and the kitchen is well-equipped and pretty clean, but there were a few roaches and ants.
