Quito Botanical Gardens

Definitely one of them best botanical gardens I've been to! Their orchid houses were top notch! Great specimens of mostly local, though some introduced, species. Big property with lots to see. Only critique is the Japanese garden. Leaves a lot to be desired. But overall, a fantastic garden!

The price is very affordable, there's different environments, plants are super diverse, the Japanese garden is beautiful and the Orchid area is amazing. There are really pretty bonsai and a variety of gardens. The ponds are really nice too. Very interesting place to visit, enjoy the plants and have a break from the urban area.

Quito Botanical Garden is not very large, but it is lovely. It is very nice to walk through the grounds, visit the vegetable garden and the orchid collection. We spent a very nice time wandering through the garden paths, we were supplied with a reusable map at the entrance, but since all the paths were corded off to create a one-way flow, it was not really necessary. They have two green houses with orchids, and their collection is amazing; the variations in shapes and colors is astonishing. There is a small, but very cute cacti patch. Don't forget to hop over the bridge to the Japanese garden side with awesome banzai tree collection. It is definitely worth a visit.
