Laguna Cuicocha

Went to this park on a Wednesday. Road was at times just a dirt road and rough. Not much to do there. They do have a building there but it was closed. The lake is large and nice with a view ing platform. There also is a trail that goes around the lake in 4 or 5 hours. Bring a jacket because it gets chilly.

Gorgeous. Hiking was good, not too hard, depending on your conditioning and acclimation. We went on a Sunday, so it was crowded, even with Covid. Had lunch at the restaurant at the end, it was quite good, with live music. The entrance guards called a cab for us. $12 each way to/from otavalo

Cuicocha lake so beautiful place where you can walk around a volcano, in Ecuador a piece of the heaven!

Amazing crater lake volcano is a very special place to explore. Very recomended. I have been there many times and is always amazing. Ther are many more hidden lakes high up in the nearby mountains. Great to see condors, dears, and fantastic ancient forrests. Ther are thousans of hiking trails.
