Hotel El Descanso

Lovely serene views, good value for the price, and the host family is very friendly. They even offered us a ride down to town at dinner time (breakfast is the only meal offered here). "Camioneta" taxi (white pickup truck with the green stripe) from the city center to the hotel costs $4 and takes about 10-15 minutes.

First things first: the view was amazing!! It is a 10 minute drive up the mountain but the owner always picked us up and dropped us off. Sometimes it’s nice to be a face in the crowd in a big hostel but if you’re tired of that, a stay here really feels like you’re staying with family:)

Amazing views. Incredibly hospitality.

The place is great! Me and my family enjoyed our stay here so much! Plus the trail to get here is scary and exhilarating, it adds so much value to the adventure feeling of the trip. Attention is great, they even have a car to take you down to the town main square, and up to the hotel as well. Rooms have this amazing views! Clean, comfortable and cozy. Will be coming back here for sure.
