Art students get their inspiration from Karmin's work, but by looking at it with their own eyes, they left the impression of a disco post, and it is very far from remembering Joala with dignity. In my circle of acquaintances who live in Viljandi, they expect the movement of this ugly pillar and the honorable behavior of the politicians of the Fatherland with Joala's widow and the exact calculations of the townspeople's wallet. It is incomprehensible how 50,000 will be allocated to one NGO in Viljandi, and at the same time it is not even worth donating even 500 to charity. How did this pillar stand up without the widow's consent? But it is worth looking with your own eyes at the still-standing art of one party.

I am basically in favor of innovative solutions, but this time the "work" that has come out is far below the level of the first experiments of the members of the art circle of the Children's Creative House. If there is nothing wrong with Mati Karmin's earlier works ("kissing students", etc.), then Marie Under's monument was already horrible - to depict a nice lady as a great old man with a hat. Over the years, the sculptor's work has clearly diminished (equally, it has been replaced by high self-esteem). The opinion of the widow should be taken into account and the person who left us (Jaak Joala) should not be mocked by such a "memorial". P.S. In order not to let the material go to waste, one could imagine a stepping out of the second pillar, only Joala should be replaced with Cedar's face and feet.

The figure has fulfilled its purpose and brought Viljandi to the map more than ever before 😀

The ignorance caused by the big media noise was replaced by a very pleasant experience on the ground. A warm and interesting solution to remind Jaak Joala and his company to spend a moment. I definitely recommend visiting when in Viljandi.

I didn't recognize Joala and a very remote place. Gave a long time to search.
