The eastern 2km is covered with a wire mesh and well passable, while the western 2km is old, slippery, some of the boards have crumbled and shattered, there is a high risk of slipping. Otherwise a nice place.

A very exciting hiking trail! I recommend starting the hike from the eastern beginning of the trail, so you should approach the trail from the Jõhvi-Tartu highway, as you will get better views and pictures from there just before the Great Lauga. There is no longer a realistic difference between the two visible paths on the map, but you can see where it used to be, as the old rotten boards are still there. There is also a campfire site and a small sitting area at the beginning of the eastern track, and a small shelter in the middle of the runway to shelter in the rain.
