A few years ago my family and I moved from Estonia to Denmark and since then I have been away from Estravel as well. I started using online booking systems. In addition to the extensive time spent booking our own trips, online systems were occasionally inconvenient. Call centers (if any at all available for online systems) and airline customer services operate only for limited hours, however issues with travel (such as flight cancellations or extensive delays leading to other logistical problems) do not ask if it is day, night or weekend. The global pandemic related restrictions make travel management even more difficult. In January 2021, my daughter was unexpectedly unable to fly home from Tallinn to Copenhagen. The ticket had been purchased directly from the airline for a Sunday afternoon, however turned out to be useless. Namely, Danish government had imposed a new immediate restriction on Friday night before, requiring a negative COVID test for entry in Denmark, done no more than 24 hours before departure, placing the responsibility of the airline check-in on staff and passengers. Anyone who has tried to find options for a COVID test in Estonia in January 2021, knows that it is difficult. In January, only one private hospital Kotka Tervisekeskus offers the test with response on the same day. Other test centers declare that their response time is 24-48 hours. However, one can take test only on weekdays and in time frame 09: 30-12: 00. Limited capacity for COVID testing in Estonia creates a difficult and stressful situation, whereas it also clearly limits passengers from using flights to Denmark in the afternoons and weekends. During the pandemic year, I have spent hours and nerves in call queues of call centers and, unfortunately, have also received inadequate information from airline staff (this is not criticism, there is just a lot of confusion in the world right now), which I want to avoid in the future. Keep up the good spirits, Estravel! There is no equal to the heartfelt empathy and professionalism of your travel consultants, which in no doubt will help to bring back former customers and and also win new ones.
