Some public institution would have to expropriate this good of cultural interest of all Spaniards. Jorge Manrique is studied in all the schools and therefore his patrimony must be conserved. Its current owners have the house in terrible conditions of conservation. Not to mention the aluminum balcony ... A shame.

Maybe it's the charm of those mornings that wake up after a stormy day, or maybe the plaza in this town has a special morning light. A mosaic with the image of Jorge Manrique adorns the floor of the Plaza de España in front of a fountain. The Casa Grande, the house of the Manrique is a little further, down Cervantes street. It will be by writers! On the stone facade open here and there a series of windows and small windows, shields and a metal balcony that perhaps spoils the whole. In front of the façade two informative panels have been arranged. These panels and what you can see from the grid: a colonnaded patio and wooden balusters, is all you can enjoy another of those monuments that are manchego street alley pieces. In the cafeteria opposite (real tourist offices in our autonomy) they let you know that the house is no longer visitable. It seems to be a private property without inhabiting.

What a shame, shame, shame.nWhat does the City Council and the Community of Castilla la Mancha ..nThis place should be public and dedicated to cultural or meeting space and development of artistic activities.nYou need, restoration, maintenance and erase all the aberrations that have their facades.nEmbarrassing for a town in need of conserving its few but important monuments.n(Casa Grande, San Andres Church, Montizon Castle, other town houses etc.
