Great place to visit, the cheese is very tasty and made in a traditional way. Pedro is most knowledgeable and passionate about his artisan skills.
I went by myself at 7pm and the man was rude, just wanted to get rid of me. Maybe he was tired after a long day of tour buses, but the place was supposedly open til 8pm and he was there, so why the rudeness?nIt’s nothing special. These cheese places are a dime a dozen in the area.
Visiting this cheese factory in this small town is the proximity of its people, knowing the kindness of the person who sells the cheeses is part of the history of the area. And above all you buy authentic cheeses from the Picos de Europa. Of the good ones. Of the artisan. That the owner allows you to try all that he has. The picón so typical of the area is extraordinary. Although I love smoking. We bought various cheeses, talked for a while and greeted a very friendly dog, while we listened to the cow bells. And very well priced.nI recommend visiting the thousand-year-old chestnut grove that is very close. Some impressive trees.
A traditional cheese factory where, after tasting their products, you cannot go without buying some. They are all of excellent quality.nThe seller, from Palencia to be exact, is super friendly.nAnd the owner / PR is an outgoing and talkative person.nIt is worth going up to Pendes.
Great variety of cheeses. They give you a try and advise younThe man who runs it is very friendly, he explains things about the valley, the area and peculiarities of the environment and films that were filmed there.
