Clinique Vétérinaire des Pyramides - Dr Traversat

We picked up a stray, weakened and hungry cat from the street 3 weeks ago. Being new to taking care of a cat, we decided to take it as soon as possible to an animal health professional, which is supposed to be Doctor Traversat. At the end of the first consultation, this veterinarian told us that our cat was an 8 month old baby and that his walking difficulties were surely due to an accident involving a car. He then advised us to vaccinate and chip him as well as treat him for fleas and internal parasites, which we did as it was necessary for our kitten. After his second consultation (vaccination as well as the installation of the chip), the condition of our cat who was already not in great shape deteriorated. Our cat refused to eat, he hardly moved. We therefore took him urgently to the Mesly veterinary clinic in Créteil. During the emergency consultation, the veterinarian tells us that our kitten is actually an 11-year-old cat and that in addition, he had a huge tumor in the abdomen which explained his discomfort. Our cat was dying, the veterinarian advises us to shorten her suffering and to euthanize her. We were in shock because Doctor Traversat told us at the first consultation that the condition of our "kitten" would improve by feeding and moisturizing it. So we lost our cat. From Monday morning, we called Doctor Traversat, asking me to call him back at 10 a.m. The telephone exchanges took place with the secretary (a human and very welcoming listening person who is absolutely not to blame in this story). For him, it is impossible that he was mistaken about the age of our cat and that he missed this tumor. He plays on the fact that we had changed the name of our cat in the meantime to say that it is not the same cat. Unfortunately for him, the chip does not lie and it is indeed the chip that he put down. Beyond the moral damage for us and especially for our children, following the incompetence of this doctor, we asked for a reimbursement of the two consultations, the amount of which amounts to 300 euros. The latter refuses to reimburse us, so we contacted several associations that guide us on the steps to follow so that this kind of thing never happens again. A good hearer.
