Bar, Restaurant, Pizzeria - Le Sèchemailles

Best bit is the location by the lake. Had a pizza which wasn't cooked all the way through, middle part the dough wasn't right and even the cheese hadn't melted. Steak was nice but they gave the wrong order of sauce..both could have been changed I'm sure had we wished to wait. The half carafe of wine was very 'thin' tasting..not a great French house wine. No low cal coke, no water offered just bottled at 4e+ although other tables had water. Bit hit and miss. No social distancing of tables, bit too close for us, we managed to move our table further a little more. Busy and pleasant atmosphere. ..

Very slow service, food is just terrible: pizza doesn't taste anything close to Italian pizza, salads are barely edible.

Nice scenery and agreeable food A short drive from Meymac, the restaurant overlooks a lake surrounded by woods. There is plenty of activity around the lake, yet the place was peaceful when we sat down on the terrace for dinner. Most of the tables were occupied and there was a good “buzz” around the tables; a sure sign that people were having a good time. The food was unpretentious and adequately portioned. Nothing fancy here, simple dishes aptly prepared. I had the beef tartare with fries (not always the safest choice but it worked out well), another guest the duck breast (perfectly cooked) and yet another one the lasagna. We had a decent bottle of red Cotes du Rhone. The service was a bit slow but friendly. The prices were very reasonable. Overall, a pleasant evening enjoying the cool evening temperatures.
