Plus, they didn't look like they were homemade (no criticism of it except that it would be okay to point out if they did). The Norman apple pie has potential. Unfortunately there is too much sugar on top of the custard which would have been fine without. Also, the puff pastry lacks white cooking, which makes it very heavy and sponges the juice from the apples.
