Good spot to get out of the house to work a bit, grab a coffee and use the WiFi.

Freindly service, decent food. Didn't see much choice of restaurants on a Monday night in mid January but we were fine.

Some of the finest beers you could ask for!! Super friendly staff and a super cool ambiance!!

We arrived in Rochefort at lunchtime on Saturday, wandered into the town and one of the first places we saw was Bistrot de la Paix. We went in and asked if they had a table - in fairness we were told that they were very busy and that we would have a wait - we were shown to a table and ordered a beer. The beer was very nice - another couple were shown to a table next to us. They ordered food and a bottle of wine. They were served with their food, eat it, had coffee and paid before we were even served. By this time , the place was close to empty. It took 90 minutes for us to be served. Prior to being served, we were told that the reason for the delay was that the chef was making the pasta for my wife’s dish. When the food arrived it was unremarkable, chips were ok, other than that the food was a disgrace to France - the home of good cuisine. If our experience was typical then you should avoid it for anything other than a drink. The worst eating experience we have ever had in 35 years of visiting France.

Steak was ok, not brilliant though. Nice atmosphere, and some outside tables. Seemed to have a big selection of Belgian style beers.
