Hôtel Le Christania

We were there for the start of a motorcycle tour. Garage for motorcycles available, car and trailer could be parked there for free. Although we had to cancel the last night, the owner offered us a room to change cloths and shower. Free of charge!!! Our cancellation, at short notice, also without costs. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We felt very comfortable. From our side absolutely to recommend.

Instead of expected normal double room, beautifully advertised on their website and on booking.com, we were given a triple, quite dated room in the attic, claustrophobic, with a cagy tiny balcony and murky windows. Very upsetting. Staff was very apologetic, but wouldn't offer any compensation, nor in person, neither via customer service of booking.com. From their point of view it was an upgrade, more square meterage, bath instead of shower, from my point - well, hated every minute in that cage.

I would like to follow the comment that was shared about the group lunch experience myself and our table of 9 others experienced at the restaurant in this hotel establishment. I personally asked if my vegetarian burger could be cut in the kitchen (as I was sharing it and from my own personal restaurant work experience know this can be a quick fix by a large kitchen knife and much less messy when done at the table with a butter knife) our waiter promptly told me he would leave me to do it. The lack of desire to make our dining experience comfortable continued as the theme. We were not asked how or even if we enjoyed our meal. My vegetarian burger was big disappointment. It felt like pasta sauce in between two pieces of sopping bread. We are the type of customers that are actually very easy to please. I rarely take to Internet reviews when I am slightly dissatisfied, however the treatment from this waiter, the un welcoming feeling that right off the hop coloured my experience was beyond distasteful. We had a reservation of 8 and had two adjoining friends. Same waiter's first response when we asked if we could add two was a swift "non, pas possible" only after we offered the suggestion that all we were asking for was two additional chairs to the table did he agree. Again, a formality that could have been extended on his behalf, making the experience feel warm and inviting. We are a part of a big group of families who ski at Hirmentaz every weekend, with all of our children in lessons. We generally eat at the lower restaurant or the one up above this one. My hope in writing this review is that those in charge at this establishment will perhaps have a discussion with staff about this customer experience. As it was shared by all 10 of us and when we left we all made mention that none of us would ever return our business. Kindness goes along way.

Nice place for a summer week end to avoid a heat wave in the plaine.

Wonderfull slope side hotel. Familly run with extraordinary level of service. They will bend over backwards for you. The restaurant is a little gem of itself with dishes belonging in restaurant gastronomique category. All priced very reasonably
