Inscriptions staff on tuesday's noon (opening) is very kind and efficient (and English speaker). Unfortunately there are no so many dependants able to speak English inside (and neither not so many gentle) and it must be considered that indications are needed for who comes for the first time, more over on how to get access to internet or scanners. There are two-weeks access free cards and 1-year cards for €10 and €40 (the latter with remote access to digital collections).

One of my workplace in Paris!
The library would be perfect without its librarians. Those of Ascoli speak aloud or even loudly without any embarrassment when those of the BIS are real ghosts devoid of any skill (apart from knitting, crosswords, Candy Crush and LeBonCoin research on working hours and their work. positions). Really regrettable (not to say shameful), a pity that no manager sometimes has the desire to walk in the corridors of libraries to tidy up a place that requires it.
