Stumbled upon The Friars while driving. What an incredible find. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, but also has a very special spiritual feeling to it. Can easily spend a few hours just walking around in the picturesque surroundings. Loved our visit & will come again.

Great place to go for a visit. A place for quiet contemplation. Lots to see and do, with other places on the site such as a working pottery. There is also a beautiful cafe with delicious food and snacks and an amazing gift shop. Built in about the 12th Century it is in beautifully kept grounds with large ponds (or small lakes) with lots of geese roaming around. For this reason visitors are requested NOT to take their dogs into the grounds.

Beautiful grounds and buildings. Calm and tranquil if you want somewhere just to sit and think. Coffee shop was reasonable priced and good friendly service. Worth a visit. Free to park but there is a collection box with recommended donation of £2. Pottery is beautiful but very very expensive.
