Excellent bit of local history, although full tours are not running at the moment the top station has very limited opening times (normally Saturdays) for guided tours which last about 15 minutes or so. Check the website. Well worth a visit.

It's only open for tours a few times a year. Very well-informed and friendly guide provided a lot of information and also answered questions. Tours only available for the top part at the moment so quite a short tour but they're hoping to reopen the bottom part soon so tours will take about 2 hours.

This was an amazing tour, and so beautifully curated by dedicated volunteers. I hope there are more opportunities to visit, as I would love to bring my husband to see the railway, thanks to Maggie and Mike
