The smallest sculpture in London is two mice eating cheese. This was created to honour two employees building the Monument (not so far from here) they died falling down after fighting for food, which actually was stolen by mice.

When in London always look up at the buildings as there are so many architectural delights. This building is aesthetically pleasing in design mice or no mice. But then it was possibly paid for by spice merchants as was originally office's for spice merchants. Date and sculpturer unknown. Two mice playing tug of war with cheese. High up to the left of an arched window on a corner that juts out a little further than the building next to it. A little higher than the first plaster shell attached to the neighbouring building. A fun if wee and hard to spot sculpture ; it's the little things in life! In close proximity to The Great Fire of London Monument, St Dunstan's in the East Church Garden, Old Billingsgate Market, London Bridge and The River Thames. Nearest station is Monument.

Located on a small sliver of a street between two buildings on Philpot lane is this sculpture. A pair of tiny mice are gnawing at a piece of cheese. Hard to tell if this is actually London’s tiniest public sculpture or just a building decoration. The origin of these little sculptures are a mystery. Local legend has it that the mice were created to mark the tragic death of two workers. Given the building was erected in mid 1800s, it seems unlikely anything would've been erected in memory of the working classes. It's can be pretty hard to find it. It's on the building occupied by Joe and the Juice on Philpot Lane, about 20m in. It's just above an arch about 3m up. Don't go out of the way to see it though. There's plenty of things in London and in this area to see.

Tiny sculpture, but a lovely commemoration, always look up when in London , you never know what you will find, search You Tube for the full story.

So they’re suuuuper tiny and up on the building where the gutter is, but they’re so cute. Yellow and purple, just where is says on google maps, but up between the ground floor and the first floor of the building on the corner (but closer to the next building than the corner)
